Why is the PCBA so important?

Printed Circuit Board Assembly is at the heart of electronics manufacturing and almost all electronic products (made in China and elsewhere) have a custom PCBA which includes their most important components which are soldered onto it in place and then tested.

The device won’t function properly and may not be safe if there are issues on a PCBA, so it is definitely a critical submodule.

Our Printed Circuit Board Assembly process

As an EMS supplier, when Agilian does your PCBA in China we follow this process:

  • If needed, our electronic engineers design the PCBA for your product
  • Our purchasing team buys the electronic components, focusing on avoiding the usual risks (buying counterfeit or refurbished parts)
  • We arrange PCB assembly in our building in South China
  • Our test engineers prepare functional testing stations that will be used for testing and validating the assembled boards

SMT Machine

The Surface Mount Technology (SMT) machine allows us to automate the assembly of small boards containing many components. It is fast, precise, and allows the assembly of PCBs at scale.

Reflow Oven

The reflow oven is an essential part of the soldering process. The PCBAs created with SMT are run through the oven which melts the solder and then, after it is cooled, results in a firm, reliable, connection for all of the components on the board.

Automatic Optical Inspection

The AOI system checks the finished PCBAs using high-resolution cameras and analyzes the images using software to find defects or other patterns that are not consistent with the customer’s requirements.
